Dauphin County to host 9th annual 'one-stop shop' job, internship and resource fair on March 28

HARRISBURG, PA (March 3, 2020) – Students and adults of all ages who are seeking jobs, internships and resources are invited to attend Dauphin County’s annual employment, internship and resource fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 28 at Harrisburg Mall, 3501 Paxton St., Harrisburg. Over 60 employers, colleges, training programs, government agencies and community and faith-based organizations will participate in this free, one-day event.

“If you’re looking for permanent or summer employment, a career, college or trade education, there is no better place to find it than Dauphin County’s one-stop shop resource fair,” said Dauphin County Commissioner George P. Hartwick, III. “Come dressed for success and meet face to face with employers and recruiters.”

Residents age 16 and older who are looking for employment or training can get assistance with the following: transportation, child care/day care assistance, legal issues due to prior criminal records and more.

“Our goal is to connect youth and adults to the tools they need to be successful and build a bright future,” said Dauphin County Commissioner Jeff Haste. “Whether you’re interested in a career in nursing, business or law enforcement, you’ll find it here.”

This year, the event will also focus on job readiness training, resume writing, appropriate attire and etiquette and will include a “dress for success” fashion show, “tie a tie” contest and stress-relief exercise demonstration.

“Thanks to the many employers, nonprofit groups and educational institutions for coming together to take part in this event,” said Dauphin County Commissioner Mike Pries. “Don’t miss this great opportunity to meet with employers and recruiters and discover what’s possible for your future.”

A family fun zone will feature fun and educational activities and giveaways throughout the day.
