Small Games of Chance License
An eligible organization is one of the following types of entities: A charitable, religious, fraternal or veterans’ organization; a club, civic and service association; or an affiliated non-profit organization of a major league sports team. An organization shall have been in existence and fulfilling its purpose for one year prior to the date of application for a license. (Please refer to the Law for a complete definition of eligible organizations.)
The types of Games that can be played are limited to Pull Tabs, Punch Boards, Raffles (including special permit raffles), Daily Drawings, Weekly Drawings, Fifty-fifty (50/50) Drawings (including major league sports drawings), Race Night Games and Pools (excluding sports pools).
Types of Licenses
NOTE: The check which accompanies your license application must be issued by the eligible organization. Personal checks, cash or money orders will not be accepted. Please contact the Treasurer's Office is you wish to pay by credit card or echeck.
There are two types of licenses available to eligible organizations: A regular license and a monthly license.
- Regular License: A regular license is an annual license that runs for one year from the date of issuance. The fee for an annual license is $125.00.
- Monthly License: A monthly license is valid for 30 consecutive days. Any game of chance must begin and end within the 30-day period for which the license is issued. Up to 12 monthly licenses may be issued in a calendar year. The fee for a monthly license is $25.00.
Special Raffle Permits are available to regular and monthly license holders. The special raffle permit authorizes organizations to conduct a raffle that exceeds the normal prize limits applicable to Games of Chance. The fee for a Special Raffle Permit is $25.00.
