4-H Leader 
Volunteer leaders head the programs and events of a 4-H club. They keep the records and paperwork current with the extension office, keep the 4-H experience fun and educational for the members, keep informed and motivate members to expand into new areas.

Requirements/Special Skills: 
o A desire to help youth 
o A willingness to give of yourself to improve our world 
o Have passed volunteer screening
o All adults or teens who will have unsupervised access to youth must be screened
Master Gardener Program 
Volunteers are recruited and trained to promote and expand Penn State Cooperative Extension's educational programs related to consumer horticulture. They assist the county extension agent in providing an educational program to home horticulture audiences. They are resource persons for horticulture information.
Hours/Days: Varies
Amount of time required: Volunteers must devote 50 hours of service the first year and 20 hours along with 8 hours of update training each following year.

Requirements/Special Skills: 
o Available to undertake extensive training and demonstrate basic knowledge and skills as evidenced by an 80% or higher on and exam administered by Penn State.
o 30 hours of intensive training
o Small fee for training manuals and supplies
o Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with the public
