This event will bring together our region's diversity and cultures as well as celebrate and increase awareness of our vast differences and commonalities.

The event will offer cultural food & performances, craft vendors, Dauphin County Human Services, Systems of Care Youth Fest, Professional Development, Sports & Games, Children's Corner, and more.  This is a FREE event, but bring along some spending money to shop with the vendors and enjoy ethnic foods from a variety of food trucks. Bring your lawn chairs.

Cultural Fest’s Children’s Corner is hosted by the Dauphin County Department of Drug and Alcohol Services and Department of Children and Youth Services, in partnership with Dauphin County Probation Services. From 3 PM to 7 PM this area will feature activities, games, and performers to engage children ages 2 through 12. Kids will be able to test their strategy skills in a jumbo-sized version a 4-in-a-row game and be entertained by a magician, a juggler, and a clown. The Theme of the Children’s Corner is “It Takes a Community” and the goal is to teach children skills to prevent substance use and remain safe in various situations.

Additional Questions

1.)    What is the cost to attend Cultural Fest?
FREE!
There is no fee to attend this Dauphin County event at City Island. No tickets are required to attend. The Cultural Fest will feature live music and entertainment from national and local recording artists, cultural enrichment, and community services all for FREE!  

2.) Health Guidelines                                                                                                            
CDC and PA Health Department guidelines will be updated as of August 21. Hand washing stations will be available. Wash your hands with soap and water often for at least 20 seconds each time. Hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol can be used when soap and water are not available. Practice Social Distancing after receiving your food, exit the line promptly to allow space for the next customer, and to keep the line moving to limit contact. Use a credit card whenever possible.  No-touch trash cans will be used. 

3.)    What should I bring with me?
We encourage guests to bring their relaxing lawn chairs, blanket, and bug spray. You will also be allowed to bring a small table and picnic basket. NO tents, coolers, or alcohol are allowed at Cultural Fest. This is a family-friendly event. 

3.)    What types of food/craft vendors are at Cultural Fest?
We have many food vendors attending offering  such delights as BBQ, hot dogs, crab cakes, kettle corn, and ethnic food festival favorites. There is something to tempt everyone's taste buds. A handful of craft vendors will also be displaying their goods at cultural Fest. Choose from fashions, fashion accessories, jewelry, and more. 

4.)    What activities are there for children?
Dauphin County Human Services will be providing a variety of games and hands-on activities for children of all ages. Bring the entire family to join in the fun.

5.)    What happens if it rains?
There are contingency plans for inclement weather. Please consult the Dauphin County Parks & Recreation Page for any updates related to weather on the day of the event. 

6.)    Can we bring our dogs?
While we love dogs ourselves and think that they are part of the family, we ask that you leave your dogs at home for Cultural Fest. Dogs will not be permitted in the event area.

7.)    We are traveling from outside of Harrisburg. What other resources can help me plan my evening at Cultural Fest? Please visit the Visit Hershey & Harrisburg for more fun happenings in the area.

8.)    What types of amenities do you have at the Festival?

Parking will be Free at City Island. Parking will also be available downtown at parking garages and metered parking on downtown streets. Parking rates vary between meters and garages. 

Special Assistance will be given for handicapped in wheelchairs and walkers. Handicapped parking will be limited.

Transit Bikes will be permitted on the Island but not in the Soccer Field Festival Area. Market Street bust stop is .5 miles from City Island. See all CAT bus routes and schedules here. The train station is .8 miles from City Island. 

Port-a-Johns will be available in many areas throughout the Island.

ATMs are available on the Island. 

First Aid – an EMT is on-site during the entire event to take care of all of your health and wellness needs while attending Cultural Fest.

Information Booth – if you need information about where to eat, where to stay, etc, please visit our Information Booth.

Security will be seen throughout Cultural Fest to make your experience as enjoyable as possible.
