The Commissioners and the County's Cultural Celebration Task Force extend a warm invitation to a free, open-air festival celebrating cultural diversity in Dauphin County. This event will bring together our region's diversity and cultures to celebrate and increase awareness of our vast differences and commonalities.

The festival will offer strolling performances, featured entertainers, ethnic food trucks, craft vendors, Dauphin County Human Services, Systems of Care Youth Fest, Professional Development, Sports & Games, Children's Corner, and more. Cultural Fest seeks to engage and connect families and communities to enjoy a day of entertainment, food, and fun, while gaining connections to human resources and opportunities. Bring your lawn chairs.

Youth Fest
Youth Fest will focus on the youth in our community displaying their arts, inventions, exhibits and entrepreneurial works. 

A Youth Entertainment Stage will allow youth to showcase their cultural differences and talents.

A special Youth Self Care Space will focus on hair stylists, barbers, nail and foot manicurists as well as health and wellness topics. 

A Youth Fun Space will focus on youth pick-up games including volleyball and soccer and other culturally diverse games.

Additional Questions

1.)    What is the cost to attend Cultural Fest?
FREE!
There is no fee to attend this Dauphin County event at City Island. No tickets are required to attend. The Cultural Fest will feature live music and entertainment from national and local recording artists, cultural enrichment, and community services all for FREE!  

2.) Health Guidelines                                                                                                            
CDC and PA Health Department guidelines will be updated as of August 21. Hand washing stations will be available. Wash your hands with soap and water often for at least 20 seconds each time. Hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol can be used when soap and water are not available. Practice Social Distancing after receiving your food, exit the line promptly to allow space for the next customer and to keep the line moving to limit contact. Use a credit card whenever possible.  No-touch trash cans will be used. 

3.)    What should I bring with me?
We encourage guests to bring  your relaxing lawn chairs, blanket, and bug spray to sit in the grassy area of the Soccer Field - Sitting in Bleachers Will Not Be Permitted. You will also be allowed to bring a small table and picnic basket. NO tents, coolers, or alcohol are allowed at Cultural Fest. This is a family-friendly event. 

3.)    What types of food/craft vendors are at Cultural Fest?
We have many food vendors attending offering  such delights as BBQ, hot dogs, crab cakes, kettle corn, and ethnic food festival favorites. There is something to tempt everyone's taste buds. A handful of craft vendors will also be displaying their goods at cultural Fest. Choose from fashions, fashion accessories, jewelry, and more. 

4.)    What activities are there for children?
Dauphin County Human Services will be providing a variety of games and hands-on activities for children of all ages. Bring the entire family to join in the fun.

5.)    What happens if it rains?

6.)    Can we bring our dogs?
While we love dogs ourselves and think that they are part of the family, we ask that you leave your dogs at home for Cultural Fest. Dogs will not be permitted in the Soccer Field Area.

7.)    We are traveling from outside of Harrisburg. What other resources can help me plan my evening at Cultural Fest? Please visit the Visit Hershey & Harrisburg for more fun happenings in the area.

8.)    What types of amenities do you have at the Festival?
PARKING
will be Free at City Island. Parking will also be available downtown at parking garages and metered parking on downtown streets. Parking rates vary between meters and garages. 

Special Assistance will be given for handicapped in wheelchairs and walkers. Handicapped parking will be limited.

Transit Bikes will be permitted on the Island but not in the Soccer Field Festival Area. Market Street bust stop is .5 miles from City Island. See all CAT bus routes and schedules here. The train station is .8 miles from City Island. 

Port-a-Johns will be available in many areas throughout the Island.

ATMs are available on the Island. 

First Aid – an EMT is on-site during the entire event to take care of all of your health and wellness needs while attending Cultural Fest.

Information Booth – if you need information about where to eat, where to stay, etc, please visit our Information Booth.

Security will be seen throughout Cultural Fest to make your experience as enjoyable as possible.
