Community Garden

Picture1Facilities and Overview
Begun in 1977 on eight acres leased from the State, this site allows folks to grow vegetables and flowers on their own, annually rented, plot of ground. Registration for these plots is competitive with most snapped up in March. There are 318 plots and two hand pumps for water. Residents of Dauphin County who are interested in registering for a community garden can contact Michelle McKeown at or by calling at 717-599-5188 ext. 2117.

2021 Registration Process
Due to the continuation of the COVID-19 pandemic, we will be registering gardeners virtually this year. If you are interested in obtaining a garden plot, please email us at with your name, address, phone number, email address and number of plots that you are requesting. We'll start to fill those requests after March 1st, 2021.
