Community Garden

Picture1Facilities and Overview
Begun in 1977 on eight acres leased from the State, this site allows folks to grow vegetables and flowers on their own, annually rented, plot of ground. Registration for these plots is competitive with most snapped up in March. There are 318 plots and two hand pumps for water. Residents of Dauphin County who are interested in registering for a community garden can contact Michelle McKeown at or by calling at 717-599-5188 ext. 2117.

The Community Gardens are sold out for the 2020 season. Please email if you'd like to be added to the waiting list and include your name, email and phone number. Sometimes, we have some last-minute cancellations and are able to accommodate a few more gardeners.
