The Dauphin County District Attorney is elected to a four-year term as the chief law enforcement officer in the county. The District Attorney oversees an office of 22 deputies, 13 detectives, and over 20 support personnel, which handles over 6,500 cases per year in the County Court of Common Pleas and the appellate courts.
This office works closely with federal, state, and local police agencies in the County in the investigation, prosecution, and prevention of crime. The District Attorney coordinates with the Victim/Witness Assistance Program to ensure that victims of crime have a strong voice in court.
