How To Prepare Your Recyclables
Aluminum & Bi-Metal (steel tin) Cans
Aluminum, steel, and bi-metal food and beverage cans. Remove plastic lid from cans. Do not recycle scrap metal, coat hangers, pie plates, aluminum foil, metal cookware, utensils, or other metal objects.
Corrugated Cardboard
Corrugated means cardboard with ribbed section. Flatten and stack together. (Example: a television set box). Do not recycle single layer, or freezer cartons, cereal boxes, pizza boxes, wax-coated boxes, or boxes with food scraps, etc.
Glass Bottles and Jars
Rinse - clear, green, and brown glass food and beverage containers. Remove metal lids and rings. Labels are okay. Do not recycle window or auto glass, mirrors, drinking glasses, broken glass, cookware, ceramics, crystal, milk glass, dishes, light bulbs, TV tubes, or plate glass.
Newspapers
Tie or bag in paper bags and stack neatly.
Plastic
(#1 & #2 household containers) #1 Plastic food and beverage bottles and #2 milk jugs, spring water, laundry detergents, etc. Rinse, remove lids, and place in appropriate containers. Do not recycle plastic toys, hair brushes, pens, motor vehicle parts, etc.
