License to Carry a Firearm

You must be 21 years of age to apply and a resident of Dauphin County.
You must bring with you a Pa Drivers License or a Pa ID card with a current address AND your previous permit or another form of photo ID and a document to verify your SS#
All non US citizens MUST also bring your immigration card and documents proving your proof of residence at stated address for the previous 3 months.
Application must be completed in its entirety including the 2 personal references.
Application process may take up to 45 days, so you will be notified when it is completed. If you are denied, you will be notified by mail.
License fees are as follows - application fee is $6.00 for a mandatory photo license paid at the time of application. Completed License fee is $14.00 paid at the time of pickup for a total fee of $20.00 Please bring the exact fee amount if possible.
All applications must be presented to our office IN PERSON, and payment shall be made in CASH, CERTIFIED BANK CHECK OR MONEY ORDER. This office does not accept personal checks.
Courthouse hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
If you are renewing your current License, bring you application in no sooner that 2 weeks before your current License expires
