Hamilton Health Center to Manage FamilyCare Millersburg

MILLERSBURG, PA – (May 20, 2019) – UPMC Pinnacle will transfer ownership of FamilyCare Millersburg to Hamilton Health Center effective Aug. 1, 2019. UPMC Pinnacle will continue to provide outpatient imaging and laboratory services at this location.

“By transitioning this practice to a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) community health center, Hamilton Health Center will offer the Millersburg community increased access to primary care services by accepting more insurances,” stated Robert Nielsen, MD, senior vice president and president, PinnacleHealth Medical Group. “Primary care is an extremely important service for adults as these visits can help identify and possibly stop a potential health emergency or the development of chronic illness.”

Hamilton Health Center provides preventive medical, dental, and behavioral primary health care and treatment to patients of all ages, regardless of their income status. The practice will be renamed Hamilton Family Care at Millersburg and will be Hamilton Health’s seventh primary care location in central Pennsylvania.

“The welcoming of Family Care Millersburg to Hamilton Health Center will enable more Northern Dauphin County patients to access primary care, regardless of insurance status, in an effort to improve the health outcomes and quality of life for all residents,” stated Jeannine Peterson, CEO, Hamilton Health Center.

Dauphin County Commissioner George P. Hartwick, III, who oversees the county’s Northern Dauphin Human Services, agreed and said the transition ties in with the community-based “Valley Strong” initiative.

“We’re excited about this partnership and the opportunity to improve access to affordable, high quality healthcare in northern Dauphin,” said Hartwick.

All employees will become employees of Hamilton Health Center. Providers Sheldon Lebovitz, DO, Meghan Castagnero, PA-C, Victoria Feidt, CRNP, and Christine Hutchison, CRNP, and support staff will remain on staff, providing high-quality medical services to the community.

“We share the same goal: to keep children and families healthy and resilient,” said Dauphin County Commissioner Mike Pries.
