Dauphin County to host free Older & Wiser® seminars on estate planning

HARRISBURG, PA (April 11, 2019) – Dauphin County Commissioners Jeff Haste, Mike Pries and George P. Hartwick III and their Area Agency on Aging will offer two Older & Wiser® seminars for older adults, their families and caregivers on estate planning.

“Our partnership with local law firms and senior centers is designed to help senior citizens and their families make informed decisions about critical issues they’re facing,” said Hartwick, who has oversight of the county’s Area Agency on Aging.

The following free seminars will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m.:

  • April 30 at Pheasant Hill Estates Community Center, 4400 Pheasant Hill Rd. Harrisburg, and
  • May 7 at the Valley’s Church, 3682 Peters Mountain Rd., Halifax.

“These educational seminars cover important topics that impact every family,” Haste said.

A question-and-answer session will also be part of the seminar, and light refreshments will be served.

Since Dauphin County began hosting Older & Wiser® seminars in April of 2012, the sessions have covered health care facilities, retirement benefits, living wills and protection through powers of attorney.

“Don’t miss these free seminars and the opportunity to hear from a legal representative and ask questions that will help you plan for your future,” said Pries.
