Crisis Intervention
The Dauphin County MH/MR Program provides Crisis Intervention Services 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Crisis Intervention is the emergency service component of the MH/MR system. Professional mental health workers provide counseling, outreach, and other services to individuals experiencing an emotional crisis or difficulty in coping with a personal problem.
Anyone can experience a crisis. Some situations may cause a person to have feelings of extreme helplessness and hopelessness, feel overwhelmed, feel unable to cope, or to feel on the verge of losing control. A person having feelings like this is experiencing a mental health crisis and can call Crisis Intervention for help.
