4-H Summer Program
The youth development summer intern will assist in organizing, presenting and /or evaluating workshops in a number of settings including day camps, 4-H fair, Ag Ventures, and others as determined by the 4-H Coordinator. Audiences include diverse rural and urban youth between 8 and 18 years of age. The intern will network/collaborate with agencies and organization in the effort to provide hands on experiences. The educational materials will incorporate both Penn State 4-H and National 4-H curriculum materials. Successful candidates must be willing to work as a team member to deliver quality programs. Prefer background in education, youth development, agriculture, or science. Candidate must be comfortable teaching and interacting with children in group settings. Other skills include organizational, leadership, and oral/written communication skills. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and use of a private automobile to travel throughout Dauphin County to 4-H clubs and events.
This is a $9.00 per hour wage payroll position with Penn State Cooperative Extension in Dauphin County. The position begins mid-May and continues until mid-August for an average of 40 hours per week. Travel from the Extension office to various job sites will be covered at the rate of $.55 a mile.

Internships with the Dauphin County Information Technology Department provide undergraduate or graduate students with experience in the day-to-day operations of Information Technology within county government.
Through this program, interns will work with the IT Department on special projects to assist with planning and preparation for several county departments, research issues to aid in developing the county website, graphic design and more.
An intern must be currently earning or possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, with major coursework in Information Technology, or website development.
