The Benjamin Olewine III Nature Center awaits your visit. Opened in December 1999, the Nature Center provides an opportunity for local residents and visitors to central Pennsylvania to explore the natural world of a fresh water wetland.
The Nature Center is a unique environmental education facility that showcases the many indigenous species of animals and plants of the freshwater wetland. The center contains a classroom, wetlands lab, meeting space, exhibits on the wetland environment, children's nature library and wildlife viewing areas. Special exhibits, programs and classes focus upon environmental awareness and preservation issues. The building utilizes "green building" construction and operation.
The center is the perfect place to visit before your hike at Wildwood Lake, receive information and preview what you will see in the park. The Benjamin Olewine III Nature Center is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The nature center is closed on Mondays.
