Any remaining vouchers from the Pheasant Hill Estates, Essex House, Zion Assembly of Harrisburg, Mohler Senior Center and Friendship Senior Center distribution sites will be available at the Dauphin County Area Agency on Aging office, 2 South Second Street, Harrisburg, PA 17101 by appointment.  Call 717-780-6130 to make an appointment.
ELIGIBILITY
Seniors residing in Dauphin County who are sixty (60) + years old during the program year and meet the income requirements are eligible for the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program.  Income is total income (including interest, Social Security, wages, etc.).  The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program does not include seniors who are living in nursing home facilities, convents and residential facilities where meals are provided.
 
The 2016 household income eligibility is:

Note:  Child Support is counted as household income, unless the child is a foster child.

These guidelines are subject to change.  The federal guidelines that are in place the day of distribution will be those that are used. 

 

Income includes:

  1. Monetary compensation for services including wages, salary, commissions or fees.
  2. Income from non-farm self-employment.
  3. Net income from farm self-employment
  4. Social Security.
  5. Dividends or interest on savings or bonds or income from estates or trusts.
  6. Net rental income.
  7. Public assistance or welfare payments
  8. Unemployment compensation.
  9. Government civilian employee or military retirement or pensions or veterans payments.
  10. Private pensions or annuities.
  11. Alimony or child support payments.
  12. Regular contributions from persons not living in the household.
  13. Net royalties.
  14. Other cash income. 


Each eligible senior may receive four (4) five dollar ($5.00) checks for a total Farmers Market Nutrition Program benefit of twenty dollars ($20.00) ONE TIME during the program year. 


BRING WITH  YOU TO OBTAIN VOUCHERS
All qualified senior residents are required to bring:
  • A Driver’s License or photo identification for proof of age and Dauphin County residency. 

TO OBTAIN VOUCHERS FOR ANOTHER PERSON
Any person obtaining vouchers for another person must present a completed and signed Proxy Form from the person for whom they are receiving vouchers.  Contact the Dauphin County Area Agency on Aging at 717-780-6130 to have this form sent to you prior to your selected distribution date.
