Children & Youth$16.76
Dauphin County Social Services for Children & Youth is currently accepting applications for the full-time, day shift position of Caseworker 2.  An employee in this position interviews, assesses, and plans or provides social services to children, adolescents, and their families.  He/she establishes and maintains associated confidential records, and collaborates with legal staff in judicial and quasi-judicial proceedings pursuant to clients’ well-being.  The incumbent may make task assignments to an Aide, and reports to the Casework Supervisor (with subsequent review by the Director of Social Services or the Agency Administrator).  This is a union position.
 
Minimum Education, Experience, and Training Requirements:  Six months of experience as a County Caseworker 1; or successful completion of the County Social Casework Intern program; or a bachelor's degree with a social welfare major; or a bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of professional social casework experience in a public or private social services agency.
 
Other Requirements:  A copy of either official or unofficial college transcript(s) along with a resume must be attached to the application.  A valid Pennsylvania driver’s license, a favorable criminal background check and favorable child abuse and FBI clearances are required.  Working during non-traditional hours may at times be required.

Minimum Education, Experience and Training Requirements: Graduation from high school or an accredited equivalency program, plus an associate’s degree and a minimum of at least one year of full time work experience in a business setting; or, graduation from high school or an accredited equivalency program, and three years working experience in a Magisterial District Court in Pennsylvania; or graduation from high school or an accredited equivalency program, plus an equivalent combination of experience and training to include three years of administrative and business experience encompassing budgeting, billing, invoicing and records management.  A favorable criminal background check is required.

Dauphin County Prison is currently accepting applications for the full-time, varied shift position of Treatment Specialist I.   An employee in this position will provide casework and counseling services to Prison inmates (classified and unclassified; sentenced and unsentenced) on Prison premises.  He/she may work in concert on block with an associated Treatment Specialist II (whose duties he/she may appropriate or share as necessary, or as directed by proper authority), and reports to the Treatment Supervisor, Treatment Coordinator, or Deputy Warden for Treatment Services (as the last directs). Dauphin County Work Release is currently accepting applications for the full-time, varied shift position of Maintenance Engineer.   An employee in this position performs repairs, maintenance, and minor construction of Work Release Center (WRC)/Probation Services (APO) structures, equipment, and premises and supervises Work Release inmates in the performance of same.  An employee in this position shall act as supervisor when the Maintenance Supervisor is unavailable.  The incumbent may work various shifts as needed by the Maintenance Supervisor in order to provide supervision and leadership to the Work Release inmates.  This is a union position.
 
Minimum Education, Experience & Training Requirements:  Graduation from high school or an accredited equivalency program, vocational school, or technical school plus four (4) years’ experience in trade (mechanical, plumbing, electrical) or maintenance work.  It is expected that the successful candidate will attain, within one calendar year of appointment, certification in first-aid, automated external defibrillator use, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation; and will maintain said certification for the duration of his/her employment.  A favorable criminal background check is required.
