Bio - MDJ K. Lenker

Magisterial District Judge Kenneth A. Lenker was born and raised in Swatara Township. Judge Lenker is a 1972 graduate of Central Dauphin East High School. He holds an Associate of Arts Degree in Police Administration from the Harrisburg Area Community College. He was certified by the Minor Judiciary Education Board of the Pa. Supreme Court in 2009.

Judge Lenker was a Steelton Police Officer for 28 years prior to his retirement in April 2009. He served as Chief of Police from April 1998 to this retirement. Prior to being appointed as Steelton Police Chief, Judge Lenker was assigned to the Dauphin County Drug Task Force and the Dauphin County Crisis Response Team.

Before being employed by the Steelton Police Department Judge Lenker was a Narcotics Detector Dog Handler for the U. S. Department of Treasury, U. S. Customs Service and worked Region II which encompasses the States of New York and New Jersey.

From May 1974 to May 1978 Judge Lenker served in the United States Air Force as a Security Police Explosives Detector Dog Handler. Judge Lenker was honorably discharged, after four years of service, from the Air Force with the rank of Sergeant.

Magisterial District Judge Kenneth A. Lenker was appointed to fill the seat vacated by the retirement of Magisterial District Judge Steven M. Semic. Judge Lenker was a candidate on the Republican and Democrat ballots in the May 19, 2009, Primary Election, and was victorious on both. He was appointed by the State Senate and commissioned by the Governor to take office on December 18, 2009. He was sworn into office by Dauphin County President Judge Richard A. Lewis at the Dauphin County Court House Court room # 1. With no opposition in the November 3, 2009 General Election, he was elected to a full six term as Magisterial District Judge.

Judge Lenker is proud to continue his many years of public service in his new profession as Magisterial District Judge 12-2-02. His office serves the communities of Swatara Township (Wards 1 & 3), Highspire Borough and Steelton Borough.
