WEDDINGS: Judge Evans conducts weddings. Parties must contact the Judge's chambers ahead of time. Judge Evans also requires a meeting prior to the wedding. He will review the ceremony and the vows that are chosen in advance.

COURTESY COPIES OF MOTIONS, BRIEFS, ETC.. DOES THE JUDGE WANT AN EXTRA COPY FOR LAW CLERK? WOULD JUDGE WANT DOCUMENTS SENT ELECTRONICALLY? Judge Evans like courtesy copies of motions, briefs, etc. they may be sent electronically. He does not want an extra copy for law clerk.
REQUIREMENTS FOR SEALING RECORDS: no special requirements.
GENERAL PROCEDURE FOR SCHEDULING NON-JURY TRIALS/CONFERENCES (LENGTH OF NOTICE, FORM OF NOTIFICATION, ETC.): Judge Evans reviews when time permits, assesses priority status. An order is sent out and telephone calls are made to counsel.
POLICIES REGARDING CONTINUANCES: Continuances are liberally granted initially. Repeated continuances are bothersome and result in the case being a lower priority for the Court.
POLICIES FOR SUBMITTING MOTIONS IN LIMINE, INCLUDING WHETHER OR NOT A BRIEF IS REQUIRED: The more effort put into the motion and the more time the Judge is given to assess it, the more reflection he will give to it.
TIMEFRAME FOR SUBMITTING TRIAL BRIEFS/POINTS FOR CHARGE: ASAP. The more time and consideration counsel gives to the Court, the more time and consideration the Court will give to counsel. Points should be submitted prior to jury selection.
PREFERENCES REGARDING VOIR DIRE, INCLUDING WHETHER COURT OR COUNSEL CONDUCTS VOIR DIRE AND WHETHER COURT REQUIRES SUBMISSION OF REQUESTED QUESTIONS PRIOR TO JURY SELECTION: Counsel conducts voir dire in Judge Evans' courtroom. The Judge only participates when asked.
