dauphin, pa (December 28, 2016) - Pennsylvania
Department of Environmental Protection’s (DEP) Manure Management Manual
requires every farm in the state that produces or applies manure to develop and
implement a written Manure Management Plan. The Dauphin County Conservation
District will host a Manure Management Plan (MMP) Workshop with the primary
purpose of guiding individuals through the process of completing a MMP for
their farm. By briefly reviewing the requirements of each section of the
MMP, followed by “planning” time to complete the corresponding section of the
MMP for their own farms, participants will leave with a finished MMP, or one
that is well on its way to being completed.
workshop will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 8 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Dauphin
County Agriculture and Natural Resources Center. Registration for the workshop
is free, but is required by Wednesday, Feb. 1. Lunch will be provided.
