HARRISBURG, PA (December
9, 2016) - Starting in mid-December, the Dauphin County Register of Wills and
Clerk of the Orphans’ Court, which is on the first floor of the county
courthouse in downtown Harrisburg, will temporarily relocate its office while undergoing
The renovations are part of a long-term project to
centralize the offices of Clerk of Courts; Prothonotary; Register of Wills and
the Recorder of Deeds on the first floor of the courthouse and have a
centralized space for the public to access records electronically.
During the relocation of the office on December 15 and 16,
2016, services may be limited.
From December 16, 2016, through February 10, 2017, the
Register of Wills and Clerk of the Orphans’ Court office, including its Marriage
License Bureau, will be temporarily relocated to the:

Street, 7th Floor

Wills and Clerk of the Orphans’ Court Jean King.
The county Register of Wills and Clerk of the Orphans’ Court
provides the following services: granting Letters Testamentary (with a will or
Letters of Administration (without a will) to qualified individual for deceased
residents of Dauphin County; collects inheritance taxes for the state
Department of Revenue; processes applications for and issues marriage licenses;
and maintains dockets and files for adoptions, incapacitated persons and the
appointment of guardians.
