Dauphin County utilizes Language Line Services to provide over-the-phone interpretation services in more than 140 languages. Anytime, from anywhere in the world, Language Line Services helps us communicate with people in a language they understand: their own. There are many different languages spoken in Dauphin County. With this service we are prepared to receive and process emergency calls in multiple languages.

TTY - Telephone Typewriter / TDD - Telecommunications Device for the Deaf
Dauphin County Emergency Communications Center (ECC) and Emergency Management Agency (EMA) can receive TTY/TDD calls for both Emergency and Non-Emergency Calls. TTY/TDD is used by the deaf community to communicate.
Dauphin County 911 and EMA is capable of receiving both Voice Carry Over (VCO) and Hearing Carry Over (HCO) calls.

These numbers are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
When using a TTY/TDD for calling our Agency, please press the space bar several times to alert the telecommunicator of the TTY/TDD call.
All Telecommunicators are trained and certified in TTY/TDD use. They understand the commands used, such as GA and SKSKSK.
