The Dauphin County 9-1-1 Emergency Communications Center (ECC) utilizes the Intergraph Public Safety map-based Windows Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) System, which is defined as a class 1 CAD system per NFPA 1221. This system is utilized to process call information and disseminate it to the proper dispatch position. A custom Geographic Information System (GIS) map assists in showing the incident location.

Once the telecommunicator receives a call at their dispatch position, the system will recommend the appropriate unit(s) to be dispatched. The system is then used to track and log all incident and unit activities.

Dauphin County operates 15 CAD workstations. There are 3 Call Take positions, 4 Police dispatch positions, 2 Fire dispatch positions, 1 EMS dispatch position, 1 Supervisor position, and 4 Administrative positions.

These workstations are comprised of dual monitor HP Kayaks operating in a Windows environment.
