The Dauphin County Juvenile Probation Office is an arm of the Juvenile Court and is responsible for the investigation and supervision of juvenile offenders who are alleged to have committed, or who have committed, felony or misdemeanor offenses prior to the juvenile's 18th birthday. The mission of the juvenile probation office is driven by the legislatively mandated philosophy of Balanced and Restorative Justice which emphasizes three equal goals: Community Protection, Accountability, and Competency Development by juvenile offenders.
The juvenile probation office utilizes a myriad of methods in order to provide quality service to both the juvenile offender and the Dauphin County community. These services include: Court/Intake Services; Community-Based Probation Supervision; School-Based Probation Supervision; Electronic Monitoring; Aftercare Services; and Community Service. In addition, the juvenile probation office has established positive and productive working relationships with many county agencies and local community-based programs to provide added supervision and protection for the juvenile offender and the community.
