Home Weatherization Program

Overview:

The Dauphin County Home Weatherization Program under the direction of The Dauphin County Department of Community & Economic Development, Daniel Robinson Director, provides the following services:

  • Weather-stripping
  • Caulking
  • Oil & Gas Inspections
  • Insulation of Hot Water Tanks
  • Attic Insulation & Ventilation
  • Primary Windows (As Needed)
  • Reglazing Windows
  • Insulating unheated basements

Who is Eligible?

  1. Low income residents of Dauphin County who own or rent a residence
  2. Mobile homes all are eligible.
  3. Special consideration is given to the elderly and the handicapped.

We want to stress that this service is absolutely free to eligible applicants. There well be no lien placed on property, and there will be no loss of income by participating in this program.

Income Eligibility Guidelines:

1 Person Household $12,885
2 Person Household $17,415
3 Person Household $21,945
4 Person Household $26,475
5 Person Household $31,005
6 Person Household $35,535
7 Person Household $40,065
8 Person Household $44,595

For family units with more than eight members, add $ 4,530 for each additional household member.

Or; you may be automatically eligible if an applicant receives Supplemental Security Income (SSI), or if an applicant receives fuel assistance through the Department of Public Welfare and are identified through the LIHEAP lists of eligibles. If you previously had your home weatherized before September 30, 1993 you will not be eligible.

How to Apply:

  1. Obtain an application from the Dauphin County Home Weatherization.
  2. A worker will contact you to finalize your application.
  3. An inspector will access your home for the needed work.
  4. Work will be completed and approved.
